Question words
These are the Tamil words for asking questions: what, who, where, when, why, how, which, how much and how many. With them you can ask for almost anything, even when you know only a few other words. The set starts with the questions you will ask most often. A tip for remembering them: most of these words start with the letter எ, and many of them have partners that start with இ for something close and அ for something further away. எங்கே asks where, இங்கே means here and அங்கே means there. எப்படி, இப்படி and அப்படி work the same way. Learn them in groups of three.
